Seasons of Joy
Hello, friends! Welcome to the Seasons of Joy podcast. My name is Jill Pack. I am a certified life coach and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Do you find yourself as more of a spectator of your life instead of a participant? Do you wish you could experience more joy, love and connection? Have you entered a new season of life and are wondering how to navigate it? I am here to show you that it is possible to create a life you love. You can find joy in any season or circumstance and, in the process, strengthen the relationship you have with yourself, with others and with God one adventure at a time.

Last September, I began a certification program on the nervous system with Leah Davidson, and in this episode Leah and I explore practical nervous system regulation—what it is, why it matters, and how it gives you back agency. Leah, a speech-language pathologist and nervous system resilience coach, explains her simple "safety sequence" to assess external and internal safety and relax the body so clear thinking and choice can return.
This conversation is especially geared toward midlife women navigating change, anxiety, or relationship challenges. Leah emphasizes that you are not broken but brilliantly adapted, and she offers tools, resources, and an invitation to a free masterclass to help you recalibrate, set boundaries, and live more joyfully and intentionally.

In this episode Jill Pack teaches how to shift from forcing others to allowing them—especially in family and faith relationships. She explains why forcing feels like love, when intervention is appropriate, and how to set healthy boundaries while still speaking honestly.
Jill shares a four-step nervous-system practice to regulate urgent, controlling impulses and gives examples of what forcing versus allowing sounds like. The episode ties the practice to spiritual trust, encouraging listeners to speak once, release outcomes, and choose presence over control.

In this episode Jill Pack explores why we often try to force change in the people we love and what that costs us. Drawing on a personal story with her granddaughter on a ski slope, she explains how forcing is usually a coping mechanism rooted in anxiety, family training, and cultural expectations. Jill discusses the grief that comes with choosing to allow rather than control—grieving outcomes, roles, and imagined relationships—and invites listeners to notice their patterns as the first step toward healthier connections.

Host Jill Pack explores how our sense of worth—the "false self"—often hijacks difficult conversations and turns disagreements into battles. She explains how reconnecting with your divine identity can calm your nervous system, invite curiosity, and transform conflict into opportunities for empathy and deeper connection.
The episode offers practical steps: notice defensive reactions, pause and regulate your breathing, name the false beliefs, and re-center on the truth of being a loved, divine being. This shift helps you apologize without shame, set boundaries with compassion, and relate to loved ones from wholeness instead of fear.
